THIS IS FOR YOU.
Yes, you!
Did you remember the Israelites were faced with the wall of Jericho?
Jericho was the land God had given them by promise. It was a land flowing with milk and honey. Jericho was going to be the land that will lead to other lands.
But,
“Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in.” Joshua 6:1
Imagine!
They were completely shut out of the land.
The walls were tall, wide and intimidating. The walls were impenetrable. It was an impossible situation.
It was intentionally shut up “because of the children of Israel.” The enemy knew they were coming.
A word actually caught my fancy in that verse. It was the first word, “Now…” It was a description of the current situation of Jericho.
Maybe there is a land that God has promised you like Jericho. There is a future and a prophecy yet unfulfilled.
But NOW you are shut out of that land. There is no correlation between your current situation and the future that you see.
Considering the facts; your NOW, you should simply forget the prophecy. There is an impenetrable wall like Jericho between you and your promised land. You should simply give up.
That was the case of Joshua and the Israelites beside Jericho. There was no hope.
But God had a different perspective on the situation. He had a different information.
And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.” Joshua 6:2 NKJV
This is why,
You should never conclude a situation until God has spoken. Click To TweetWhen God said, “See…” He wasn’t referring to Joshua’s two eyeballs. He was calling him to us his inner eyes. He needed a revelation of the actual condition of the situation.
If you keep judging yourself by what you can currently see, you will shortchange yourself. Click To TweetYour current condition is a fact but it’s not the truth about you. God has a different view of you.
This is why you must know how God speaks to you.
That land of promise is already given into your hands.
Then God commanded them to move around the wall of Jericho, it was to be done once in a day for six days.
On the seventh day, they were to move around the city seven times after which they were expected to shout and then expect the wall will fall.
Take note, the victory was predicated on an instruction.
Adherence to instruction is the key to the fulfillment of prophecies. Click To TweetDon’t just get excited about promises, ask God what you need to do to fast-track the performance.
The idea was weird. How can moving around a wall lead to the crashing of it? Who breaks a wall by walking around it and making a noise?
It was crazy. It doesn’t make sense to a natural man but that was God’s method.
Anyone watching from a distance will call them fools. They will not understand why grown-ups will be doing such a silly thing.
It was also strenuous especially on the seventh day when they had to go round the city seven times. They were to remain mute too until it was time to shout.
But they kept at it. They kept moving around the wall even when it didn’t seem anything will happen. They didn’t worry about getting results, they simply believed and obeyed God.
Maybe there is an instruction God has given you too and it doesn’t make too much sense.
God led you into a business, a ministry, a relationship or any other endeavor.
And you have been doing it faithfully and it seems nothing is happening. It seems as if you have been stationed.
People think you are cursed. You have been at a spot so to speak. You are not making any progress over a prolonged period of time. Some think you are lazy.
There is nothing to show for your silent labours, prayers, and tears. No fruits. No results.
I want to encourage you – keep moving around those walls of Jericho.
Keep at what God has called you to do. Many may not understand what you are doing but keep at it.
You may not see any impact in the physical but your little act of faith reverberates in the Spirit realm. Click To TweetThe Israelites kept at it until the seventh day. They obeyed until the very end.
“And it happened… that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.” Joshua 6:20
This is why I am convinced that your future will happen. Your dreams will materialize. Your vision will come to fruition.
Those walls of scarcity, lack, debt, delay, sickness and stagnation will fall and you only have to go up and take the city.
I love the NIV rendition of this verse. It says
“…and at the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city. Joshua 6:20
I see you charging into your promised land. You won’t have to meander. You will go straight in. You will no longer remain at the same spot. You will adavance.
You’ll remember this September for good. Believe God’s word. It works when all other things fail.
Happy New Month!
I love you.
